Volleyball may seem like a simple enough sport to understand. However, like with any sport one should know the basic volleyball rules before they begin playing. Volleyball is often compared to tennis, and it is true that many volleyball rules apply to tennis as well. However, there are also different guidelines that control the sports. Formal game volleyball rules mainly apply to the size of the volleyball court, the number of players on each team, the equipment specifications and official game play volleyball rules.
